How to buy a domain by card with an AI agent

Your AI agent can search names, check prices and create a domain order on StableDomains. You then pay that order by card through Stripe checkout. The agent does the legwork; you approve and pay. No account forms.

How it works

1. The agent checks availability and price right before buying: MCP search_domains or GET /api/v1/availability.
2. The agent creates the order: MCP create_order or POST /api/v1/orders. The response has a price-locked quote (quote.price_usd, quote.locked_until) and a checkout_url.
3. The agent shows you the details: domain, years, total price and when the price lock ends, and asks you to confirm.
4. The agent sends you the checkout_url (/order/{id}; /order/{id}?pay=card opens the card option). It's a prefilled order page you can pay from by card, any wallet or QR code.
5. You pay by card through Stripe Checkout: credit or debit card, plus Apple Pay or Google Pay where your device supports them.
6. The agent polls the order (check_order or GET /api/v1/orders/{id}) until the status is completed, then tells you the domain is registered. It then shows in your dashboard.

The card payment step is done by you, the person, on the checkout page. The agent hands you the link.

Tip: ask the agent to send an Idempotency-Key on order creation so a retry never creates a second order.

The card price is the domain price plus the Stripe fee (2.9% + $0.30), rounded up to the cent. Registration prices for one year:

FAQ

Can my AI agent pay by card for me? Not on its own. The agent creates the order and sends you the checkout link; you complete the card payment on Stripe.

Do I need an account? No account forms. You can check out as a guest and come back to the order from the order page or your email link.

Why is the card price higher? It adds the Stripe processing fee (2.9% + $0.30). A $4.99 .xyz is $5.45 by card.

Which card methods work? Credit and debit cards, plus Apple Pay or Google Pay where your device supports them.

What if the price lock expires before I pay? Ask the agent to create a new order and send you the new link.

What happens after I pay? Once Stripe confirms the payment, the order is marked paid, the domain is registered at the upstream registrar and appears in your dashboard. WHOIS privacy is free.
