StableDomains.net is a domain registrar that takes stablecoins only. You can pay for a domain in USDC on seven networks, and registration starts as soon as the payment confirms on-chain. This guide walks through the whole flow, for people using a wallet and for scripts or AI agents using the API.
Real domains. Paid in stablecoins. Bought by agents.
What you need
- A wallet holding USDC on one of the supported networks: Base, Ethereum, Arbitrum One, Polygon PoS, HyperEVM, BNB Chain or Solana.
- A little of the network's gas token to send the transfer. The exception is gasless x402 USDC on Base, where you sign an authorisation instead of sending a transaction.
- No account. You can check out as a guest. Signing in with an email link, a passkey or a wallet (SIWE) is optional and helps you find past orders.
StableDomains does not accept BTC, ETH, SOL or other volatile assets, and does not convert them. If you hold something else, swap to USDC first.
Step 1: search for a name
Search on the homepage or call the API:
GET /api/v1/search?q=yourname
The result shows availability and the USD price for each TLD. Current list prices (live quotes from /api/v1/tlds on 28 October 2026):
| TLD | Register (USD/yr) | Renew (USD/yr) |
|---|---|---|
| .com | 16.99 | 20.99 |
| .net | 20.99 | 25.49 |
| .org | 22.99 | 34.49 |
| .io | 57.99 | 114.99 |
| .ai | 169.99 (2-year minimum: 339.98 first order) | 169.99 |
| .xyz | 4.99 | 30.99 |
| .co | 34.49 | 74.99 |
| .dev | 18.49 | 45.99 |
| .app | 18.49 | 39.99 |
Prices follow the upstream registrar and can change. The quote in your order is the price that counts. Full details are on Pay with crypto.
Step 2: create the order and pick USDC
Choose a chain and USDC as the token. Over the API:
POST /api/v1/orders
{"domain":"yourname.xyz","chain":"base","token":"USDC"}
The response is HTTP 402 Payment Required with the exact amount, the receiving address and the USDC contract for that chain. The same information is shown on the checkout page.
Step 3: send exactly the quoted amount
Every order gets a unique amount: a random 1–9999 micro-unit suffix is added so the payment can be matched to your order and nobody else's. Do not round it. Send exactly the amount shown.
The payment window is 60 minutes. A late payment of the exact amount on the right chain and token is still detected and matched.
Each transaction hash can pay only one order.
Step 4: wait for confirmations
StableDomains checks that the transaction succeeded, reads the token Transfer log (token, address and amount) and waits for these confirmations:
| Chain | Confirmations |
|---|---|
| Base | 3 blocks |
| Ethereum | 6 blocks |
| Arbitrum One | 10 blocks |
| Polygon PoS | 32 blocks |
| HyperEVM | 3 blocks |
| BNB Chain | 15 blocks |
| Solana | finalized commitment |
To speed up detection you can submit the hash yourself with the X-PAYMENT-TX: <hash> header on POST /api/v1/orders/{id}/pay.
Step 5: the domain is registered
The domain is registered at the upstream registrar NiceNIC (IANA 3765). It appears in your dashboard and in GET /api/v1/domains. WHOIS privacy is included free where the registry allows it.
Gasless USDC on Base with x402
If you or your agent use an x402 client, you can pay for an order without sending a transaction. The 402 response lists an exact scheme for USDC on Base. The client signs an EIP-3009 transferWithAuthorization for the amount and repeats the request with an X-PAYMENT header. See the x402 guide for the exact requests.
Fees and minimums
- StableDomains adds no payment fee. You pay only network gas, or nothing with gasless x402 on Base.
- The minimum order is the price of one domain (currently .xyz at $4.99).
- Registrations run from the TLD minimum up to 10 years.
- Prepaid balance top-ups are $5 to $5,000 if you want to pay once and spend later.
USDC or USDT?
Both work on all seven networks listed (on HyperEVM the USDT option is USDT0). USDC has one extra option: gasless x402 on Base. If you hold USDT, see paying for domains with USDT across chains and the USDT page. The USDC page lists the USDC contract addresses.

FAQ
Do I need KYC to buy a domain with USDC? No identity documents are requested to pay. Registration is still subject to ICANN registrant-data rules, described in the Terms.
Which network is cheapest to pay from? StableDomains charges no fee on any network, so the difference is gas. Low-fee networks such as Base, Arbitrum, Polygon or Solana usually cost less than Ethereum mainnet. Gasless x402 on Base costs no gas.
What if I send USDC on the wrong network? The payment will not match, because matching needs the order's chain, token contract, receiving address and exact amount. Email support@stabledomains.net with the order ID and transaction hash. Recovery is best-effort and not guaranteed.
Can I get a refund? If a paid order cannot be completed (for example the registry refuses the name), the amount is credited to your StableDomains prepaid balance. On-chain payments are not sent back automatically.
Can an AI agent do this for me? Yes. The same flow is available over the REST API, x402 and the MCP server. See letting AI agents register domains.
Can I renew with USDC too? Yes. Renewals use the same payment flow, and you can turn on auto-renew from a prepaid USDC balance 7 days before expiry.
