Terms of Service

These terms apply to stabledomains.net, its REST API, x402 endpoints and MCP server (together, "the Service"). By using the Service or placing an order you agree to them.

Last updated 28 October 2026.

1. Who we are

The Service is operated by Tim Johnson, trading as StableDomains ("we", "us"). Contact: support@stabledomains.net. We are a reseller. Domains are registered through our upstream registrar, NiceNIC International Group Co., Limited, an ICANN-accredited registrar (IANA ID 3765), and are subject to its terms and to the policies of each domain's registry.

2. Eligibility

You must be at least 18 and able to enter a binding contract, and you must not be barred from using the Service under the laws that apply to you, including sanctions laws. You are responsible for any registration you make, and for complying with any extra eligibility rules a registry sets for its TLD.

3. Agents acting for principals

An AI agent, script or other software may use the Service on behalf of a person or organisation (the "principal"). The principal is bound by these terms and is responsible for everything the agent does, including orders, payments, DNS changes and transfers made with its API key, OAuth token, wallet or order ID. Keep credentials secret. You can revoke API keys and OAuth grants in your dashboard at any time.

4. Registrant data and your ICANN rights

You must give accurate, current registrant contact details and keep them up to date. Providing false details, or not responding to registrar enquiries about their accuracy, can lead to suspension or cancellation. We pass registrant data to the registrar and registry as ICANN rules require. Free WHOIS privacy is applied where the registry allows it.

Your rights and responsibilities as a registrant are set out in ICANN's Registrants' Benefits and Responsibilities. Domain disputes are subject to the Uniform Domain-Name Dispute-Resolution Policy (UDRP) and, where applicable, the URS.

5. Prices and payment

  • Prices are in US dollars and shown before you pay. A quote or order is fixed for its payment window, currently 60 minutes. Premium names and registry price changes may change the price of later orders.
  • Payment is in USDC or USDT on the networks listed at checkout, by a transfer of the exact amount to the order's address, by x402, or from prepaid balance.
  • On-chain payments are final. We cannot reverse a blockchain transaction. You are responsible for sending the right token, on the right network, to the right address. Funds sent to the wrong network or address, or in an unsupported token, may be unrecoverable. We will try to help if they reach an address we control.
  • A payment of the exact amount that arrives up to 7 days after the payment window closes is still honoured, if the name is still available. Late, short or wrong-token payments outside that are resolved by support.
  • Prepaid balance is held in USD terms, can only be spent on the Service, and earns no interest. It is not a deposit or e-money account.

6. Registration, failures and refunds

Registration is not guaranteed until it completes. A name can be taken between search and payment, or a registry can reject it. If an order paid from balance, or a domain in a cart, cannot be registered, the amount is refunded to your prepaid balance automatically. If an order paid directly on-chain fails after automatic retries, we will refund it to your balance or, on request, to a wallet address you control, less any network fee. Completed registrations, renewals and transfers are not refundable, except where the law says otherwise.

7. Renewals and expiry

Registrations last for the term you paid for. We send expiry reminders 30, 7 and 1 days before, by email and to your account webhook if you set one. If auto-renew is on, we try to renew from your prepaid balance 7 days before expiry. If the balance is too low, the renewal does not happen. Renewing on time is your responsibility. After expiry a domain enters the registry's grace and redemption periods, and restoring it may cost more or be impossible.

8. Transfers

You can transfer a domain in with its auth code. A transfer-in is paid in USDC and adds one year to the registration where the registry allows it. You can transfer a domain out to another registrar, subject to ICANN's Transfer Policy, including the 60-day lock after registration or a change of registrant. Email us to request an auth code.

9. Acceptable use

You must not use the Service or any domain registered through it for illegal activity, phishing, malware, botnets, spam, fraud, child sexual abuse material, or infringement of others' rights. We, the registrar or a registry may suspend, lock, redirect or cancel a domain, or close an account, to comply with law, ICANN or registry policy, a court order or a UDRP decision, or to stop abuse. Report abuse to support@stabledomains.net.

10. API, x402 and MCP use

The API and MCP server are offered as-is, documented at /docs. Requests are rate-limited per API key or IP address. Limits are returned in X-RateLimit-* headers, and exceeding them returns rate_limited. Do not try to get around limits, overload the Service, scrape it in ways that degrade it, or reach data or accounts that are not yours. We may change endpoints, limits or tools, and we version the API to avoid breaking working clients where we reasonably can. Paid x402 data endpoints are charged per request at the price shown in the 402 response.

11. Referrals

If you refer a user or agent, you earn 10% of our margin (our price minus the registrar's cost) on their completed paid domain orders, credited to your prepaid balance. Top-ups themselves earn nothing. Attribution is first-touch and permanent. Self-referrals and fake accounts earn nothing. Payouts in USDC are reviewed by hand, have a minimum amount, and can be refused for abuse. We may change or end the programme for future orders.

12. Free tools and data

Domain value estimates, backlink and archive data, drop dates and other tool outputs are estimates from third-party and public sources. They are not advice and are not guaranteed to be accurate. Do not rely on them alone when you buy a domain.

13. Liability

Nothing in these terms limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that cannot be limited by law. Otherwise, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, lost profits, lost data or business interruption, or for losses caused by registries, the registrar, blockchains, wallets or other third parties. Our total liability in connection with the Service in any 12 months is limited to the greater of the amount you paid us in that period and US$100. If you are a consumer, you also have your statutory rights.

14. Changes and termination

We may update these terms. The date at the top shows the latest version, and changes apply to orders placed after it. You can stop using the Service at any time. We may suspend accounts that breach these terms. Domains you have paid for stay registered to you for their term, unless they are suspended under section 9.

15. Governing law

These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have exclusive jurisdiction. Consumers living elsewhere in the UK can also use their local courts. Domain disputes may also be decided under the UDRP.
