Help and troubleshooting
Answers to the most common checkout and after-checkout questions. If none of these fix it, contact us.
I paid but my order isn't showing as paid
Your order page checks the blockchain automatically and updates by itself. Each chain needs a few block confirmations first, so allow a few minutes (Ethereum and Polygon are slower than Base or Solana).
If it still says "awaiting payment", open your order page, paste your transaction hash (or Solana signature) into "Already sent? paste tx hash" under Send manually, and press Verify.
Verify only matches a transfer of the exact amount, in the token and on the chain shown, to the address shown. If it reports no matching transfer, see the next section.
I sent the wrong token, chain or amount
We accept USDC or USDT on 7 chains: Base, Ethereum, Arbitrum, Polygon, BNB Chain, HyperEVM and Solana. Each checkout is for one token on one chain, shown as "Send exactly … On …".
Payments are matched by the exact amount. The odd last digits identify your order, so don't round the amount. A rounded, short or extra payment, or one on another chain or in another token, won't be matched automatically.
Don't send a second payment to make up the difference. Contact us with the tx hash and we'll sort it out by hand.
My checkout expired
A checkout holds its price and payment amount for a limited time. The expiry time is shown on the order page, next to the chain.
If you paid the exact amount just after it expired, that's fine: late payments to an expired order are still honoured for 7 days. If you haven't paid yet, start a new checkout from the search instead.
How long does registration take?
Once payment is confirmed, registration usually takes under a minute. If the registrar is slow, the order shows "Payment received. Queued" and retries automatically, registering within 24 hours.
If registration can't be completed, the order shows "failed · credited to balance" and the amount you paid is credited to your StableDomains balance.
Finding your order and setting DNS
Your order page shows your order ref (SD-XXXXXX). If you added an email, your receipt includes the order link. Signed-in customers see every domain in the dashboard.
To point the domain somewhere, open it in the dashboard and expand DNS. You can add records (A, CNAME, TXT and so on) or set custom nameservers, then press Save DNS. DNS changes can take a while to spread across the internet.

x402 and MCP payment errors (agents)
Errors come back as JSON with a code. The common ones:
payment_required: the call needs payment. Read the payment requirements in the 402 response and retry with a signed payment. See x402.payment_invalid: the signed payment didn't match the requirements (amount, network, recipient or expiry). Request fresh requirements and sign again.domain_taken,invalid_domain,unsupported_tld: pick another name or TLD.availability_unknown: we couldn't confirm availability. Retry shortly.rate_limited: slow down and retry after a pause.- MCP error
-32602: a tool argument is missing or misnamed. For example,search_domainstakesqandquote_domaintakesdomain. See MCP and docs.
Agents can open a ticket with POST /api/v1/support or the MCP tool contact_support.
